A Surprisingly Good Chapter in the Saw Franchise: A Review of Saw X
Saw X, which came out in 2023 and was directed by Kevin Greutert, breathes new life into the long-running Saw franchise.
The movie follows John Kramer, who is referred to as Jigsaw and is terminally sick. This character goes to Mexico for an unsafe experimental medical operation so as to have a solution to his cancer problems. When the procedure turns out to be a scam, Jigsaw is enraged and decides to use his infamous traps for revenge against those who exploit the weak.
A Return to Form
Saw X feels like a return to form for the franchise. The film focuses on the elaborate and gruesome traps that fans of the series have come to expect, while also adding a surprising amount of emotional depth. Tobin Bell’s portrayal of Jigsaw is complex and terrifying.
New Direction
What sets Saw X apart from some of its predecessors is its focus on Jigsaw himself. In contrast with some later movies where plots are complicated or strange villains introduced; this time around it’s all about Jigsaw and his intentions. It gives more room for suspense throughout the film.
Not for Everyone
Of course, Saw X is not everyone’s cup of tea. The violence and gore may make certain audiences too uncomfortable with it though. Additionally, this movie does not really deviate from what was established before in earlier films in terms of style either . Those looking for something completely new may be disappointed.
Verdict
Saw X adds value to Saw franchise as a whole. Its concentration on Jigsaw ,thrilling escape rooms scenes ,and surprisingly deep emotions make it stand out from other sequels there were previously made . On top if that he arguably has one of the greatest villains ever created..
However, it might not appeal to everyone since it can only attract fans of this particular horror genre..

If you love Saw series but prefer watching part one again, then do not miss watching Saw X. Nonetheless, if you’re new to this movie set or cannot withstand violent scenes, it might be best for you to avoid this particular piece.
