Zara Hatke Zara Bachke

In the bustling city of Indore, resided Kapil (played by Vicky Kaushal) and Somya (played by Sara Ali Khan), a young, fun-loving couple. Despite their happy marriage, their biggest woe was living in a joint family. Dreaming of a space of their own, they hatch a plan – a not-so-ideal plan.

Kapil and Somya decide to get a fake divorce to qualify for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), a government scheme for low-income families. However, their hilarious plan backfires when their families get wind of the ‘divorce’. Chaos ensues as both families intervene, overflowing with unsolicited advice and emotional drama.

Through this comedic rollercoaster, Kapil and Somya navigate not only their families’ meddling but also the challenges of portraying a divorcing couple. Their charade is further complicated by quirky neighbours and societal pressures. As they struggle to maintain their act, their true feelings for each other resurface, making them question their motives.

Will Kapil and Somya achieve their dream home, or will their fake divorce lead to a real separation? “Zara Hatke Zara Bachke” explores this question with a light-hearted touch, laced with relatable humor and social commentary on the importance of personal space in Indian families.
